What Is an LSV?

An LSV (Low Speed Vehicle) must meet all the following requirements to be considered an LSV:

  • Registered for street use.
  • Can travel in excess of 20 mph, but no more than 25 mph.
  • Headlights
  • Front & rear turn signals
  • Tail lights
  • Break lights
  • Reflex reflectors (reflectors on sides of the vehicle)
  • Side mirrors
  • Parking brake
  • Windshield
  • Seat belts
  • 17 Digit VIN - Exception: Not all golf carts/low speed vehicles have a VIN, if that is the case enter all X's in the VIN field. Any person operating a low-speed vehicle (LSV) must have in their possession a valid driver license. An LSV must also be registered and insured with Personal Injury Protection and Property Damage Liability.
